D'Cepticon
Netherlands
The 23 year old Roy de Waard is busy with playing for a while. When he was 18, he was inspired by a colleague which results in the purchase of two Stanton spinning tables and a simple mixer to practice.
Since that time things gone fast. With his artist name ‘D-Ray’ he started to play hardstyle with real vinyl records. But because his less connections and other circumstances it was tough to succeed in the world of the harder styles of music. That was the reason that he started to play house and techhouse with the artist name: ‘Roy C’. On this territory he had more connections who helped him to became up higher. His first success was in 2009 where he was in the line-up of the first Dancetour in Utrecht after he won a dj contest. He also got a radio broadcast on Lasingerland FM. Finally he started to produce his own ‘Roy C’ tracks and cooperate with many other artists.
After four years of silence around his name ‘D-Ray’, Roy decided to pick up playing harder styles again. ‘D-Ray’ was replaced by the name ‘D’Cepticon’ and he turned some things around. ‘D’Cepticon’ is about energy, up-tempo and is, by his unique way of playing, a set full of surprises. His equipment was also much more expanded and exists 2x CDJ 1000 MK3, 1x DJM 800 and a CDJ 2000! With his name ‘D’Cepticon’ he started to produce tracks and send demo’s to participate on dj contests. And with result! His first gig was a fact and he grab his place in the Selectives DJ-Contest. With other words: ‘D’Cepticon’ is back!
