Dancefair: the program
The final program of Dancefair is finished!
Finally it’s there: the final program for Dancefair is published. Dancefair is THE educational event for every dj or producer who wants to get more out of his or her music. On the 11th and 12th of February Dancefair offers a total of 2000m2 expo floor and 9 areas of musical inspiration with seminars and workshops on House, Harder styles, Techno, Trance and more in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, The Netherlands. An absolute must for every amateur and professional in the music industry. Here are some highlights of the program:
Ask the “big artists” your questions
Endymion, Vato Gonzalez, Shlomi Aber, Zany, Secret Cinema, Egbert and Lucien Foort are some of the known names in the Dance industry. During “The Workflow” they will showcase how they’ve build their tracks and which software they’ve used in the process. Dancefair visitors will be able to ask questions and share experiences with these world famous DJ’s.
Best practices to break through
In “Get Involved” artists like Quintino, Fausto, Warren Fellow, Promo, Michel de Hey and Shermanology will talk about how they started back in the day. They will teach the visitors how toget their tracks to the right places in this big industry. They will answer questions like: “How do I get my music to the right labels?” and “When do I know I’m ready?”
The making of “Fundamentals” with Argy
Argy is a household name in the house/techno scene. A rising star with a very unique mindset on music. Listen to his tracks and you will understand this statement. Argy just released a new album: Fundamentals. He will talk about where he got the inspiration for the album and a lot more during his 45 minutes seminar.
Grab your chance to break through on one of the best house labels in the world: Defected
With pride Dancefair presents a seminar from Simon Dunmore’s label: Defected. The man behind Defected himself will be leading the seminar. On his side will be Dutch artists who are releasing on the best-known label in the dance world; Franky Rizardo, Roog and Taras van de Voorde. Do you want to know what triggers Simon? What you need to do to be able to release on Defected? Surely put this one on your visit list!
Tips & Tricks
In “DJ’s Playground” the basic techniques of DJ’ing are covered, the use of effects, how you can connect with your audience, how you can organise your music collection and last but not least how to make sure you are noticed as a DJ. Mentors during this seminar are Quintino, Real El Canario, Deepack, Warren Fellow, Michel de Hey, Kutski and Shermanology and more.
New input for producers
The real producers will find their way to the DAW room. The theme for this area is “In The studio with” where sneak peaks in the kitchen of artists like Rene Amesz, Kabale und Liebe, Toneshifterz, Franky Rizardo, Tommy Pulse, Satori, Arjuna Schiks, Cardboard Motel and Leo Melcherts will be very inspiring. Tip: Make sure you also check artists from other genres than the one genre you love, you can learn a lot from genres you are unfamiliar with.
Vato Gonzalez releases the best Dancefair Track!
Vato Gonzalez was instantly enthusiastic when he heard about Dancefair for the first time: “This is what the dance scene needs, I want to contribute when the moment is there.” Gonzalez is a man of his word: He will come to Dancefair with his Vato Community. And he has a special mission; at the end of Dancefair he will choose the best track which he will then release on his own label.
Feedback on your best track!
Why do I get so little response on my tracks? It's a question you see on a lot of music related forums these days. Usually it’s not that they don’t want to respond but fact is labels are being bombarded with demos in this digital age. In the “Demo Feedback Lounge” there are several labels present to listen to demos and provide live feedback for the producers approaching their table. You will get honest feedback and you will get to know if your track is suitable for the label. Make sure to bring your best track since every label will review only one track per visitor. On the 1st of February Dancefair will release the timetable for the participating labels present in the Demo Feedback Lounge.
