[Report] Coone's "The Challenge" album release party (BE)
After a whole month of producing, partying and stressing, it all came down to one night. The CD Release party at club Highstreet in Hoogstraten, Belgium.
Of course, I was there to witness this monumental evening and share it with all the fans and artists as Hardstyle united us one last time.
At around 23:00h, I arrived at club Highstreet with a few friends and were already shocked to see that the queue had already reached the street. That's a good 50 meters of Hardstyle fanatics waiting in line to party their night away with all their favorite DJ's!
In the club, the amount of people was equally amazing. It was just a dense sea of Harder Styles fanatics that filled every inch of club Highstreet. Now, I love to be on the main dance floor to just dance and jump around like there's no tomorrow, but I just couldn't find a clearing in which I could plant my eager dance feet and my friends, which is why we decided to take place on the balcony so we could witness everything from above. Again, looking over the fast ocean of sweaty clubbers, I was absolutely gobsmacked at the amount of people. I've been to club Highstreet many times, but I don't think I have ever witnessed this amount of people.
After finding our place right under a cooler and on the balcony overlooking the dancefloor, with an OK view of the DJ booth, we could settle down and enjoy the rest of Dr. Rude's set, which was actually quite brutal in all it's jumpy glory. Of course, I was awaiting Zatox who I also saw the night before at BLACK, but I wanted to witness his set again because of all the great tracks he drops. Unfortunately, Zatox had 2 or 3 other gigs that night, so his set was quite short. About 30 minutes. But that's OK, and completely understandable. I really enjoyed the set, I can't recall any tracks apart from "To the Top", which is such a good track, but unfortunately I didn't see many people going wild. Shame! However, as soon as Coone took his rightful place behind the decks, the crowd went bezerk. Go figure, pretty much everyone was there to see and cheer on Coone! It was a really great set filled with a lot of his new album tracks of course and as usual, EVERYONE was singing along to his tracks. Absolutely amazing! I'm sure it gave Coone constant goosebumps.
Because my girlfriend and her sister were pimping it out in the RnB area, I decided to join them during Ambassador Inc's set. "Boooo!" I hear you scream in unison! I know, I know, but you can't have everything in life, right?
To keep it short. The RnB room was, well... OK. It was filled with the usual douchebaggery and for the half hour I was there, at least 3 people were taken away by security for causing havoc. I found that quite ironic seeing as though in the main hall there's thousands of people all squashed up against each other listening to what some people like to call "Fight music", yet I never witnessed anyone fighting during the Hardstyle sets. It made me laugh, but also made me realize yet again that people who have a deep love for Harder Styles also show quite enough respect for the other people on the dancefloor. Even if they get pushed around by a group of "pogo'ing Hey-ho'ers".
I re-emerged into the main hall for Scope DJ's set which was a blast and I really enjoyed, you guessed it, "Traveling". Such great atmosphere and so awesome to see everyone's hands in the air during the break to then see them all go absolutely nuts during the climax.
Unfortunately, partying after such a long night at BLACK and having 2 women who get tired of everything at record speeds, we had to cut the night short. However, the time I did spend there was amazing. I didn't really get to enjoy the music as much on the balcony because the sound there was barely audible and all the real partying was going on below us on the dancefloor, but that's no problem. It was great to see everyone enjoying their Easter on Hardstyle and supporting Coone and his ensemble.
To conclude, the adventure we lived together with Coone was fun and at the same time awesome. He's preduced an album in 30 days, hosted an Aftermath party and a very successful CD Release party!
I really need to mention the aftermovie. What amazing work the camera guy has done yet again with the audio visuals and just the amazing details such as the effects. Absolutely brilliant! Check it out!
