[Report] Fucking Bastards
Thanks to the successful launch a few months ago, the reborn Happy Dayzz are slowly but surely making their return.
The hardcore grand opening in the Crystal venue was an absolute hit. The place was packed to the rafters.
Saturday the 20th of November was time for a second edition of "Fucking Bastards".
This time, there were three main area's with a fantastic line-up. Unfortunately, this edition didn't attract a lot of party people, which was most likely due to the problems on the railway in and around Utrecht that had caused quite some havoc.
As you can imagine, the atmosphere was quite somber. The party just didn't want to pick up the pace.
Cup-A-Core and T.C.O were the opening act in the "Terror" area with a nice dosage of breaks. Tracks like "The Flux Capacitor" from The Outside Agency or "No More Rock & Roll" from Hellfish & Producer, to name a few.
After the terror-intermezzo by Paranoizer, Stromtrooper surprised us with a set that extended the awesomeness of the first tag-team. We were not used to so many breaks by this guy, but we loved it!
In the main we also checked out Re-Style. His production "Planetgroover" was interchanged with "G-Town Madness - Headbanger" and "Angerfist - And Jesus Wept". The crowd absolutely loved it which made for an awesome atmosphere in the main area. The only problem we noticed was that the sound wasn't anywhere near as good as the previous edition.
For instance, the melodies didn't stand out like they should and we noticed the same (audio) issues in all other area's aswell.
The 3rd area was just terrible. Tymon and Counterfeit dropped tracks like "Gucci", "Aggressive Behaviour" and "Clear and Present Danger". It was close to impossible to party hard in this area as the bass seemed to have disappeared completely.
At one moment, the sound was turned off completely to try and fix the issues, but this didn't help one bit.
The problems persisted during The Outside Agency's set. Tracks like "Industrial Cooking Spray", "Flux Capacitor" and "Hell's Basement" still made the crowd go wild, even though the soundsystem wasn't at it's full capacity.
The audio issues remained an issue until the last hour (5am - 6am), when the organisation finally fixed the audio problems and eveything sounded as it should. This was a blessing for the next artist Cemon Victa. He made the most of this opportunity and dropped some massive tracks like:
“Darkcontroller - Unconscious World (Negative-A Remix)”, “Tymon – Down With The Real”, “Negative-A – Smoking Blunt” and a surprising finale “TOPDROP – Achtung” which made this the most memorable set of the whole evening.
Despite the last set, we were still left with a slight disappointing feeling, mainly because the reputation of this location (sound wise) had just received a painful blow.
The amount of party people is ofcourse something that is pretty unpredictable as well as the atmosphere.
This party will not be going down as one of the best in Culemborg, but we expect that the next edition will exceed all expectations regarding this awesome location, which has given us so many great parties in the past.
