Reverze 2011: Call Of The Visionary
After a 2 hour long trip by trip, we finally arrived in Antwerp. We could use some food after the long trip, so we decided to go to the McDonalds. On our way we came across several groups, who where just like us, singing all kinds of songs. The atomsphere around the station was very nice, everyone was in a great party mood. After our quick meal we went back to the station to search the tram stops. When we arrived in the big hall of the station, we suddenly heard loud chanting and a lot of noise, just like in a soccer stadion. We followed the noises and finally came in the big hall on the second floor where we saw hundreds of people, lining up for the tram. The adrenaline rush you get from that sight is really undescribeable.
The police kept an eye on the queue, and after 45 minutes of waiting , we finally arrived at the door of the trams, so we tought. One of the police men told us we had to move along and we came back at the point where we started lining up. Behind us we heard a lot of mad shouts because the police decided to let everyone pass along, so in fact we all had been waiting in a line for nothing.
We followed the crowd outside and saw a tram waiting in the distance. Happy as we were we ran towards it, and jumped on it. On the tram, the atmosphere was really great aswell , everyone was singing and shouting. You could really feel the party mood. When the tram arrived at the Sports Palace, we went joined the queue to enter the complex. The lines moved really quick so at exactly 20:00 we were inside. We could deposit all our jackets and valuables in lockers, so that was the first place we went to. Everything was well organised, so you never had to wait long, and the service at the bars and food shops went really smooth aswell.
20:15: we went down the stairs to enter the Sports Palace and start our evening with Bestien. When we entered the arena, the feeling was undescribeable. The party had only started for 15 minutes, and everyone was already partying like they would after some hours. We immediately went to the bar to get a refreshing beer, and started dancing on the Tek beats of Bestien. At the time when the second artist started in the Sports Palace, the place was getting crowded. With a filled Sports Palace, Dr Phunk and Royal S started their act. It was a mix of Tek and jump. We didn’t found it that great so after 30 minutes we decided to move to the Lotto Arena to watch Da Tweekaz live. We went outside the Sports Palace and followed the crowd trough the big labyrinth you had to cross to get to the other room.
When we finally arrived at the Lotto arena, The Vision was playing his last song of his set, so we were just in time for Da Tweekaz. This was a very refreshing set, as it was the first hardstyle set we heard that evening. We spent the hour dancing our asses off to their beats. When Da Tweekaz finished their last song, it was finally time for one of the top moments of the evening. It was time for Coone. The crowd in the Lotto Arena went mad when Coone entered the stage. He played some of his well know songs, such as: The Undefeated, Dirty Sounds, Million Miles and Techno Prime.
Coone’s set was certainly a great one, and it started to become very hot in the Lotto Arena. When Coone ended his set, it was time for the lovely girl Stephanie. A lot of people left to the Sports Palace to see Dr. Rude, and also because of the heat. We stayed 30 minutes to check out Stephanie, but she mostly only played songs of other artists, such as ‘Catfight’. After those 30 minutes we quickly went to the Sports Palace to enjoy the remaining hour of Dr Rude’s set. It was a great set, with a mix of jump, tek and hardstyle songs.
We stayed in the Sports Palace for the sets of Ambassador Inc. Their great performance was the reason why the Sports Palace was fully packed, with theur great beats and kicks they made sure everyone stayed till the end of their set. When the last 15 minutes started the Main room was getting even more crowded for D-Block and S-Te-Fan. This set had a great intro and finally the huge lasershow we heard about was starting. The room was filled with flashing laserbeams all over the place, while D-Block and S-Te-Fan were playing some of the hardest hardstyle beats we heard that evening. The temperature in the Palace was quickly raising as everyone was dancing like crazy. No wonder everyones T-shirt was wet, so most of the party people just decided to take it of.
Then it was time for Frontliner. He started his set with a huge intro which was (in my opinion) a tad too long. When the intro finally finished he started his set with the rather disappointing Reverze Anthem, but he quickly made that up with the rest of the set.
The Reverze Flashback was a great experience, Ruthless, Lethal MG and Q-IC played some timeless classics. After one hour we decided to go outside for half an hour, to regain some strenght for the set of the Psyko Punkz. We had a little rest, went to the bathroom, and bought ourselves a refreshing beer, and then it was time to head back to the Sports Palace.
When we entered the Palace, immediately the sweat was dripping of our foreheads again, but we didn’t care, as we just saw the Psyko Punkz walking on the stage. They started their amazing set with the song Bassboom and you could see everyone going crazy. Toghether with the magical lasershow, they played a fantastic set with some of their better songs. The only dissapointing song was Techno Prime, as we already heard it from Coone.
When the Psyko Punkz finished, we rushed to the Lotto Arena where Outblast and Korsafoff were about to start. We couldn’t get there fast, because everyone wanted to see them. When we waited in line for about 10 minutes we could finally enter the Lotto Arena, and what we saw there was just amazing.
Really the entire Arena was just filled with people, from the bottom to the top, everyone was going crazy on the loud hardcore beats. We had to stay on the balcony because there was just no room to go down. We only heard fantastic songs the whole hour long. It was mainly Outblast who was playing, Korsakoff was rather waving her hands in the air all the time, but still, it was a great experience.
All sweaty again, at 5:00 we went back to the Sports Palace to enjoy the last half hour of Zatox’s set.
After Zatox, the highlight of the evening (at least for me) started. The live-act of Evil Activities. The lasershow was at a peak and the whole Palace was filled with hard hardcore beats. The last song was the best song of the whole set, they played their mix of Nobody said it was easy. You could feel the beats trough whole your body, as the whole crowd was jumping around like madmen. When this fantastic set ended, we again headed to the Lotto Arena to enjoy our last hour on Reverze with Endymion and Nosferatu. They played some good hardcore songs, and also played Nosferatu’s newest song. The place wasn’t filled that much anymore, as more and more people where starting to leave, but we stayed till the very end, as we didn’t want to go home yet.
When the lights went on, we went outside to the lockers, to take our jackets back. Again, everything went very smooth, we were outside in less than 15 minutes, to take back the train. At 8:00 we arrived at the Station of Antwerp, where the party mood was still going on. Half an hour later we took our train to rethink the fantastic moments we had that evening, or just, like the most of the passengers, just falling asleep to dream of beautiful hardstyle and hardcore music.
