[Report] WiSH Outdoor 2011 (NL)

The summer months are for me the sign to enjoy all the beauty of life in an ultimate way. Of course attending festivals is a part of that, and this weekend I had a nice festival in mind. A festival in the always cosy Brabant. The festival took place for the 5th time this year, that's right, I'm talking about WiSH Outdoor! From a small festival, it has grown to a big festival with at least 12.000 visitors. Of course I was curious how the organization would handle with these changes.

I traveled by train, followed by shuttle bus, from Den Bosch to the festival terrain, and everything was controlled perfectly. After doing the usual things when you arrive at a festival, such as storing your jacket, getting coins, it was time to party. I was just in time to see the last bit of the set of Mind.Ilussion vs San Miguel at the Insomnia Stage. The set of the Frequencers had just the right bashing beats to get the present public dancing and jumping up and down. The whole Insomnia stage was inspired by Hardstyle heroes of the future. There is awaiting us a bunch of new talents the coming years.

Adaro also knows how to entertain a public. Just by accelerating and leaving nothing to chance. What a set and what a violence this Brabander gave away. From all the jumping and drinking beer, we got hungry, and that has to be coped with on a certain moment. With a pack of French fries and a croquette, I took place on one of the many benches. A small moment of resting, just before I continue bashing through the day.

The organization had done their bests with the big main stages. One of them was a huge star where the DJ was looking down on the public. Next to that, the House stage had a big rainbow, with on the sides waterfalls as decoration. It has to be said: the organization really did there best. If you go to a festival, a nice stage is always a big asset. They also gave a true 'WOW' feeling.

On the Dedicated stage, the Psyko Punkz where putting the place upside down. With tracks such as 'Psyko Soldier' and 'Disrespect', they got all feet on the dance floor. The sound on this stage was fine, and you really felt the baselines in your stomach. First, Zany started a solo set that I would call heavy and variated, and after that he got the company of MC DV8 and Jowan, to perform as the Donkey Rollers on the Dedicated stage. What a great live act they brought us, and I think the public agrees with me on this one. Just going crazy on tracks such as 'Motherfuck' and 'Hardstyle rockers'.

The last Hardstyle act of the Dedicated stage was the one between Ran-D and B-Front, and this can of course only mean one thing: just giving it all. The advantage of parties which last longer that 23:00, is that the light shows keep getting better visible as it gets dark. On the most festival you can only enjoy half an hour of lasers and light shows, before you can go home. On WiSH Outdoor, you can enjoy a big 3,5 hours of the spectacle. And if this goes together with a bashing set from Ran-D and B-Front, it gives you a feeling of pure euphoria. The set was ended by, of course, 'Magic'.

As a final act, Mental Theo and Charly Lownoise where present, and they made the Dedicated stage shaking on it's foundations. The public joined them enthusiastic on their happy hardcore hits. Loudly, everyone sang along with several old bashers and everyone was hakking through their last bits of energy. I took a quick look at the end show on the Main stage, which looked awesome, but unfortunately, the shuttle bus and the night train wouldn't wait for me. The conclusion of the day can be summarized easily: the organization has put down a top festival. Only thing I can say about WiSH Outdoor: They will see me back next year!
