Another exciting edition of Earthquake is coming up, once again held indoor. A “new” location is being presented, or rather: an old location under a new name. In earlier years, German organizers P.T.P. hosted many legendary parties here and after some important renovations, the former Tarm (not to be mistaken with the Tarm Centre in Cologne) reopened its doors under the pretty straightforward “Event Center” moniker. In its 4th year, The Qontinent presented probably the best line-up in its existence, mainly due to the incredible hosting partners. Contrary to last year’s edition, where Liberty White and Footworxx were only allowed one day, both were given two days to present themselves to the international audience at Puyenbroeck recreation area. Festivaart was the first edition of a new concept in the east of the Netherlands with a capacity of 4250. A festival with three areas containing Hardstyle, House and Electro/Dubstep and various other styles in an area called ‘The 7th Heaven’. Festivaart was held at the second day of June, on a Thursday because of ascension day (hemelvaart), which is originally a Christian holiday.

Last weekend the time had come, we were allowed to let all our energy loose in a new ID&T concept called Energy. For the first time, the previously named "Trance Energy" would be carrying a new name and thus also taking a new route. Not many people may have missed the fact that it wasn't a Trance only line-up. For the third time Hard Bass took place in the Gelredome, where in the past it was held at the Silverdome. Considering I’ve been to all three Gelredome editions I can say it only gets better and better. The concept brings a good variation in sets switched with live performances. Therefore, the 5 year anniversary got the location it deserved: the notorious Flanders Expo in Ghent. Home of probably the most renowned techno-concept in the world, this was a perfect setting to celebrate five years of fusing (hard)techno and hardcore/industrial.
