On the 27th of August 2011 the latest Earthquake party was held in Bochum. One week before the party the theme EP “Ignored & Provoked” was brought out to you by UHM. The artists contributing to this EP are Triax, D-Ceptor, Newstyler and Mr Sinister. All are promising young artists who regularly produce new tracks for UHM and Rotterdam Records.
Most of you know these guys from their contributions to the Raving Nightmare CDs or collaborations with other artists. Triax is also known for his latest double CD “Audio Slave”, in which he and Mr Sinister showed that they are ready for their final breakthrough. Newstyler and D-Ceptor are two German DJs ready to make their breakthrough, while keeping or improving their current level.
This Ep contains 4 kicking tracks which can all be characterised as mainstream and up-tempo.
Together they represent the atmosphere of the Earthquake party and are also related to the Raving Nightmare Themes. Real UHM stuff. I wouldn’t expect another sound and feeling from these tracks. Slightly doomy and dark. Nasty and filthy. Musically varied and uplifting.
The first track “Here They Come” is from Triax and the German DJ/producer D-Ceptor.
This track starts with some nice computer sounds and combines those with an upcomming bassdrum and some tough lyricals; someone who’s quoting the bible. The synthesizers are nicely stretched and varied and build up to a great melody. The break is excellent; it's uplifting and takes you on a flight. High piano sounds and a harmonic string expand into a bombastic heavenly atmosphere after which the main melody re-enters. These melodies keep variating till the end, which makes sure the track never has a dull moment. This track just makes you wanna dance! Lighters in the air and go with the flow. Way to go guys!
“Exposing the Truth” by Mr Sinister & Triax is much more aggressive. No more nice tunes, but screaming synths and a pounding kickdrum. This one gets the sweat pouring on the dancefloor. During the break the suspense is building up for another wave of energy to burst out. This track is more basic and primal. Fire it up, let the crowd move!
The third track is the main title track “Ignored and Provoked” by D-Ceptor. You guys are gonna love the main synth-lines. Again this track slowly builds up to the main melody, whick contains some really cool, deformed tones. It doesn’t take long for the break to follow with its main vocals. The melody sounds slightly dramatic and together with the threatening lyrics this is another successful contribution to this EP.
Last but not least, probably the best track of the EP, “Evil Seed”. Just the title of this track should be enough to make you curious. Dark and horrific vocals with a great dubstep synthline start this track up. Further on the atmosphere becomes black like ink. Remember the Hellraiser movies? Think of those when listening. You don’t want be the victim in this track. The diversity in synthlines every time it comes back to a breakbeat / dubstep rhythm is sublime. We almost forgot to mention the main bassdrum. Hell what a deep heavy kick this track has! It invites you to play with the repeat-buttons on your mixpanel to make the crowd go wild. Keep watching out for more tracks from Newstyler and D-Ceptor. If these men can continue this way of producing they’re gonna have a great breakthrough real soon. This track just rocks!
What’s left to say? Nothing much. These 4 tracks are all great; quality stuff. Use them in your sets or enjoy them at home. Pump up the volume and let your neighbours enjoy them too! Keep these artists in mind.
