After a smashing first release the dutch-belgian duo In-Phase is back with another floorpounding EP to make you dance! Let’s have a listen to what they have come up with this time, hopefully it is as promising as their other releases.

Let’s begin with the title track, “Unraveling of dreams”. It starts off with a decent intro, normal buildup, nothing really special, but why should it be as this is just for mixing in for the deejays? Then the mid-sounds come in, I can’t really put my finger on what kind of sound it is, but it's refreshing to me! Especially the changing of tone-heights they used for little breaks and in the end of the mid. Overall the mid is fun and really banging! Then the break comes in, a promising first part with a sort of bassline for the melody and some snares, it really makes you curious for what comes next and then it kicks in after a short vocal of “The unraveling of dreams” First a bit more basic with long chords and later on with the real rhythm and melody for the climax. During the first listen, this track and melody kicks are the best of all In-Phase tracks if you ask me, it would certainly work out great on the dancefloors and festivals this coming summer! The track is lovely and melodic, maybe even a trancy track with great hardstyle basslines and a funny mid with a great drive in it.




Then the second track, in two versions: “Offbeat” the only difference between the two versions is that one has vocals and the other one doesn’t (quite logical considering the mix names). My favorite is the vocal mix just because it feels a bit more like a whole package to me than without the vocals, but it’s the deejay's choice to decide whatever version he wants to spin. This track is really something special! I was a bit surprised by this one, because of the buildup of this track. To explain this, the track is built up like this, Intro – short break – feels like a climax – break – a bit more raw mid – then another break and then the final stage of the track kicks in, a combination of the harder part and the first climax! When I first spun this track, I made the mistake of mixing it out already on the mid part and its perfect for that, so it leaves the creativity to the deejays, do you want to get it out after the first climax or do you want to expose that awesome last stage, which is a combination of both melody and mid. This track's melody is good and the buildup is original, but my favorite of this release is the “Unraveling of Dreams”.

To conclude this release is pure hardstyle, with a great atmosphere and original elements, as it should be! The mids are quite heavy but not raw yet and the melodies, especially the “Unraveling of dreams” one, are great. This is really a release to look forward to, it will be released on Dirty Workz Update, the 22nd of April!
