Today, the second and (again) very long awaited release of the new Hardstyle label Digital:Age has been released.
Digital:Age, the new label which has been formed by ex-Scantraxx hero Wildstylez and ex-Fusion heroes Noisecontrollers is entering the seen with a bang!

Last week I reviewed the first release "A Different Story", which was the first release on the new Digital:Age label. In case you're not aware, Digital:Age will be releasing a new release each week, for 10 weeks! It looks like we're in for some exciting weeks as 10 releases is a really great "gift" for all the Hardstyle fans out there.

Now, let's get on with the actual review of "Stardust", which honestly sounds pretty damn amazing. That mid intro is pretty funky with a nice percussion element panning around in the background. It's almost trying to grab your attention: "Hey, over here!! I know I'm panning around in the background like a little hyperactive piece of percussion, but just listen to me.. I'm awesome!"

The percussion dies off and a soft synth takes it's place, which even includes some angelic voices to build up the suspense before the main synth comes in to play. In fact, it's barely anything more than a square synth with a pretty basic melody, but this simplicity is enough to make my little stubbled hairs on my head (and arms) stand upright. It seems I'm getting a lot of goosebumps these days. Either it comes with the age, or Hardstyle really is taking a more emotional route towards the summer.
It has to be said, the melody is beautiful in all it's squarey simplicity! I'm wondering what Wildstylez and Noisecontrollers pictured in their minds with this track and the relation to stardust. *rubs head to produce some imagery*

Ok, let's picture this one (I suggest listening to the track while reading this next bit). Full pan to a lonesome star out in the vast nothingness of spa-a-a-a-aace, his dreams of a journey through space and time, shooting passed alien planets, through blackholes, asteroid belts, spiraling around galaxies which we could only dream about (Steven Hawkins would be proud). His dreams are portrayed by the soft synth and angelic vocals, the build up to his decision to go, or not to go - to leave all his star friends behind and go where no star has ever dared to venture.
Cut over to the square synth. Our star friend has decided the time has come to leave his humble home and to follow his dreams. As the image pans away and slow motion frames fill my mind, the star is portrayed in all it's beauty shooting off into the vast unknown. A supersonic trail of stardust is excremented as the star leaves its galactical home in search of freedom and adventure. Images of his journey flash by as the kicks roll in. His new found freedom is far more beautiful than even he could have ever imagined. Other heavenly entities watch in surprise as the young star roars passed, stardust still floating off into the space behind him.
The synth dies down as we watch the star slowly disappear into the darkness of space, followed by a mid intro of great kicks and... "Oh Hi!", that little hyperactive percussion is back to cheer on his starry friend as the mid intro fades out leaving us yearning for more!

From start to finish, Wildstylez and Noisecontrollers have yet again managed to fill my heart and mind with untouched emotions, a reminder that anything is possible if you follow your dreams... and pump your motherf*cking fists to the beat! If I have to write something negative about this release, it would most definately have to be the ending. Why does it have to end!

Another absolutely amazing release and I'm already pumped for the summer to hear all these new tracks blast by in all their summery, sunny (and starry) glory. Stardust gets my floaty-goosebumps followed by a hefty-but-happy-fistpump award!

Ryan, great way to review a track. And spoken like a true oracle.

A very nice track indeed. I like the acid-based-intro before the main melody kicks in which sounds somewhat familiair. Qua atmosphere it reminds me of the second album of Dune "Expedicion" (Rave / Happy HC 1996) which has also a spacy dramatic theme with some nice catchy melodies. Different but somewhat connected. "Lost" and "Beyond" seem to be the keywords I'm looking for as well.

Bahaha I'm pretty sure it's a saw, but only because you can hear it so clear in the low notes.
