Fear.FM Release DB

It's time to review 3 amazing tracks from a new kid in the scene. Well, new kid isn't really correct, but I'll tell you about that in a minute.
Outlander (also known as Lander Deloffer) is a young, well... kid who got picked up by Mr. Dirty Workz Coone to be the new young blood in the Dirty Workz crew.
Many may know Lander as DJ Crixus, who released a few tracks a few year back (eg: Act of Union) but shortly after the release, everything went relatively quiet for him and I started to think he gave up on Hardstyle to go chase girls or do the usual teenage things, like... chasing girls.
Little did I know that Lander was busy working on his sound, because this guy wanted to get somewhere and he definately had talent.
I followed many of his previews he threw online. Uplifting melodies that just gave me goosebumps, I was certain this guy had some talent and it was only a matter of time before someone picked him up!
So, from this short personal history, we'll make the jump to his 3 new tracks!

Great Dreams
Great Dreams! Wow, what can I say. The first thing that I noticed is how clean his productions are! Soundwise, everything sounds nice! His kicks are nice and deep, maybe a little too "crunchy" for my taste but they're still full enough to blow the speakers.
The vocal in combination with the pad rising out of the background accompanied by a short choir synth plucked straight from heaven is the start of something awesome!
I have to say, the melody does remind me of a track I heard from him when he participated in the Defqon.1 2010 Producer contest (which I was convinced he would win). I'm pretty sure this is a 2011 remake of that melody, which is far from bad. I love this melody to bits, it's filled with great emotion and will certainly do very well on the dance floor.

In a nutshell, an absolutely brilliant melody and equally brilliant track!

It's safe to say that Outlander has been looking up to one of Hardstyles' most successful artists, Headhunterz because this track sounds so much like a Headhunterz production - and I hope he takes this as a compliment.
Outlander has done an amazing job on "Great Dreams" and this has shot up into my top 10 favorite tracks of the moment. A nice, deep kick in combination with an amazing melody makes this track an emotional rollercoaster of Hardstyle madness!

Making it Happen
Outlander is definately making it happen and this track is no exception. A funky synth complementing the deep "Outlander" kick. This time, the crunchiness of the kick fits the track a little better, well at least the mid intro. I'm going to be honest, I'm not really too fond of the break, but hey! a break is just to give you all a rest before the climax kicks in so you'll have enough energy to go absolutely nuts!

In contrast to "Great Dreams", I feel the melody is no where near the awesome level I've given "Great Dreams", but it's still bouncy and funky and I suppose a little housey as the vocal states. If I have to give this track a little negativity though, I feel the crunchiness in the kick prevails too much in the climax. My poor little ear hairs are shaking out of their roots and I'm pretty sure my ear drums have packed up and are ready to leave! However, given the right sound system (and not some puny earphones) I'm sure the ground will shake and set off some earth quake alarms.

It's hard to judge this track in the shadow of "Great Dreams", but take this track aside into a little room with a wall of subwoofers and a handful of party people, then yes, this track rocks! Again, another good job by Outlander! And one to be put into your collection, DJ or fan!

Android
Android is another melodic hit! The intro and mid intro are plain and simple, rough and hard with some robotic vocals thrown in every now and then to give you that Android feeling. A good time for some fist pumping before the climax comes into play. The break is nice and short, just how it should be and we're quickly treated to an awesome "in your face" melody to get the party started. Again, I feel that if Outlander took out the crunch embracing the kick during the climax, it would make the overall sound a little more subtle. But on the otherhand, a nice hard crunch never hurt anyone, right? It will sure as hell cause some havoc on the soundsystem as the boomers rattle and subwoofers pump the air out of the lungs of front row fanatics.

The melody, though not as emotionally tinted, is a great party melody which will certainly cause the whole party to jump around. Beers splashing around, girls on shoulders and funny little half naked guys crowd surfing are just a few of the oddities you'll see when this hits the decks!

Conclusion, an amazing party track with a phat and euphoric melody topped off with a nice deep and almost Raw, teeth grinding kick.

To conclude, the new kid Outlander has really earned his place at Belgium's number one Hard dance label - Dirty Workz.
The label are also lucky to have picked up this guy because I'm absolutely sure there will be big things in Outlander's future! It's also safe to say that Outlander is Belgium's first (solo) Hardstyle producer to be signed with an internationally renowned label - Dirty Workz. Something to be very proud of as a Belgian as we've usually been given the Jump/Tek stamp! With Outlander we can now safely say that Belgium is starting to understand Hardstyle. So watch out for that little country!
