One hell of a producer, that’s Synapse. His first releases were mostly with Sei2ure. And they both performed behind the decks together on a regular basis. His last release K7-09 (DMT/The Raebai) was from June 2009. Now he’s back with another massive EP. This one will hit like a nuclear bomb. Destroying everything in its path.

Vows of Doubt
The title track “Vows of Doubt” is a cooperation between Synapse and Ruffneck. Together they’ve combined the power of raw industrial sounds with the purity of some of the drum and bass like percussion. This new way of producing, at which it looks like you’re standing next to a drum-set, makes the music more intense and less electronic. It sounds pure and full of strength. Of course the raw kicks and screaming synthesizer tones can’t be missed either. Together with the angry vocals they fill up this track to express true frustration.

Primal & Pure
This one starts of with some very nice harmonic sounds after which, the industrial echoing sounds slowly begin to appear. The bassline is like a diesel train, not to fast but steady and not to be underestimated. The psychological vocals give this track even more depth and when the synthesizer starts spinning like a circular saw, there’s no escape possible. You’ll just get sucked into this dark piece and it will run you over like an unstoppable train. The track ends as greatly as it begins. Notice the line: “All people understand FEAR”. Coincidence?

Hiresh
The B-side of this EP starts with “Hiresh”. A more up-tempo track which starts a bit chaotic with lots of cracking sounds. The synthesizers are just awesome, sounding like portable grinding machines. Merge the styles of ‘Angerfist and Meagashira’ and you’ll get an idea of what the melody sounds like. Play this track and you’ll surely get the crowd moving.

The Blood
Last but not least there’s “The Blood”. Again Synapse has chosen for a trancy, harmonic, floating melody to start his production with. Although it’s rapidly over shadowed by numerous percussion elements and a bassdrum which gradually gathering intensity. The buzzing bass is combined with a louder kick that hits like a hammer on numerous occaions. And of course we’ve got some noisy synths to complete this track, which is the shortest of the four. Near the end, the harmonic melody comes back again to finish off and restore the silence.

All tracks are really suitable for making a difference in your set. They all have a great drive and great melodies to choose from. Do you want it slow or fast, up-lifting or dark? This release was certainly worth waiting more than a year for. So prepare yourself and get this excellent piece of industrial hardcore.
