The Prophet, THE Godfather ("It makes no difference to me what a man does for a living, understand." - Quote: Don Carleone) of Hardstyle, the big guy at Scantraxx the guy that knows the ins and outs of the Hardstyle scene is back... with BLACK! (What a nice rhyme).

With BLACK only a few weeks away from us, one of the hardest Harder Styles events which is now held in Hasselt, Belgium - it's time to finally release the long awaited anthem. And what an anthem!

In true BLACK style, the anthem has a dark atmosphere including a detuned piano riff, heavy kicks and of course screeches galore! But what really makes my hair stand on end is the buildup to the climax, which starts off with a piano riff and some dark atmospheric sounds. A nice vocal (by Ran-D). The vocal in combination with the build up synth is amazing. You hear the dark, emotional melody in the background which is just rising out of the dark to meet you, face to face, staring staight through your soul. Filling your heart with the power of BLACK, you feel nauseous as the darkness creeps up around you, filling your world with an empty void. Dark fingers lashing at your neck, causing your hair to stand on end. You're paralized as the melody envelopes you in a tight coil, your eyes rolling back into your head. In the darkness, a narrow beam of green light can be seen flickering in the distance. It seems to be scanning for something, looking for the lost souls out in the empty void. You try to reach out for it, call for help... what's going on!? You can't move, you start to panic as the eyes in the darkness stare at you, not blinking, not moving, just ripping your soul to shreds from the inside.

All of a sudden the darkness lifts away as you see hundreds of multicoloured beams chasing away the blacker than black void, like futuristic knights in armor! You're starting to come around and notice that your saviors aren't knights in shining armor, they're not heavenly angels coming to whisk you away from an eternity in hell... you're at BLACK and the high powered lasers have filled the arena with their magical elements!
The darkness receeds and a sea of dancing party people are all cheering, awaiting the climax when all hell will break loose and the arena is filled with the metallic reverb of bone crushing kicks.

This is the feeling I get when this awesome anthem is pumping through my earphones, a powerfull world of emotions which has been created by The Prophet.

I've read so many comments about the preview of this anthem and the discussion is diverse. Some digg it, others hate it and complain that "This isn't an anthem". Now, tell me... what makes an anthem an anthem for you? In my opinion, an anthem needs to be filled with the atmosphere of the event theme. In this case, the atmosphere created is dark, with a slight emotional feeling in it. The melody isn't the typical dark melody, but the notes do cause a slight emotional short circuit in my auditory nerves. The atmosphere being built up is just pure epicness and I'm not saying this because I don't want to say anything bad. Oh no! The Prophet has done an excellent job capturing the essence of BLACK and I can already imagine the atmosphere when this track is dropped.

An amazing track and anthem, packed full of emotion, atmosphere and still brutal enough to be BLACK worthy with excruciatingly rough kicks which complement the dark melody.
An ultra hard double fist pump for this track and I'm really hoping I can witness this live (I still need my BLACK tickets :))!

IDK, I didn't really get much out of this anthem... I think the vocals were too "nice" somehow... I prefer vocals like in Fade to Black from Max Enforcer last year... or the Darkside by the Alpha2 (best "dark anthem" IMO anyway). They just seem much darker and more evil Tongue

Fun review to read though, good job! Shiny

I don't have that much with hardstyle, this is not my cup of tea. I agree with Tim about the climax part of the track. I'm missing that last drop of energy that let's the place explode like a reactor. More speed wouldn't hurt either.

I like it.
The track have a good energy but i think a vocal much darker should be better.
Good review anyway.

I don't think there is much to do to make the vocal darker Wink especially not for an anthem.
