The brand new ‘10 years of music’ sampler will be released for Christmas, so be nice to Santa and you might get the opportunity to complete your Third Movement collection! One thing is for sure, this will fire things up in these cold and dark winter days.
I’m very thankful to have the honor of reviewing this huge release.
The biggest names of the label have put in their biggest effort to make sure this astonishing release will contain top quality tracks for this special occasion. Artists at work are Promo, The Wishmaster, N-Vitral, Void Settler, D-Passion, Rude Awakening, The DJ Producer, Deathmachine, Sequence & Ominous and Peaky Pounder.
There are both single tracks and collaborations from these masters.
Make sure you’re prepared for this release as it will blow you away with its variation in harder styles.

The first track is Rude Awakening – XYTTM

This track is a sort of prelude for this album.

A simple and calm intro piece of music to start the release with, a piano with a low deep voice, pretty intimidating. Saying you should never give in to anything and that TTM will never surrender, not after this great decade and they will never surrender in the future !

The second track is Promo & The Wishmaster – Crazy As Fuck

The title says it all, these 2 legendary producers are crazy as fuck and so is this track. One of the best tracks on this release if you’re a fan of the harder side of Hardcore.
The intro is very strong, the sounds are awesome, but what about those kicks. Right before the kicks come in, there’s a vocal: Crazy as fuck, I’ll rip your piercings off. If you want to rip someone’s piercings off you must be crazy as fuck, but if you can make such awesome distorted kicks as they made for the intro, you must be insane. It has been ages ago since I’ve heard a sick kick like this.
Deep punch and lots of distortion all over the place ! Combine this with the awesome sounds you can hear and you’ll have a wicked intro.
‘High Speed Third Movement’, that’s when the break starts. A small part in which they are trying to create a certain dark atmosphere with the melody, and it worked for me as the climax part sounds dark and hard, exactly what TTM stands for !
I must say I’m very impressed with this track, it has great elements, especially the kicks, play this track out loud and I can assure you, you’ll make everyone go Crazy As Fuck !

The third track is D-Passion – Searching For Tomorrow

With his last release Knocking Walls Down he delivered another top quality release for the Hardcore crowd. This time it will be no different, Searching For Tomorrow isn’t the typical D-Passion track, but variation is what makes labels and producers refreshing and interesting.
Where D-Passion most of the time goes for a hard track, he went for a track which fits more in the Mainstream category of Hardcore.
The intro starts with some vocals. I think the vocals talk about what you should be searching for in the future. You’re stuck at the day you’re living in no matter if you are searching for something else, there’s only one thing you can do, make the choice to change or remain the same.
That’s when the kicks enter the stage ! Another track with awesome kicks, D-Passion is pretty known for his hard and pounding kicks, and that’s exactly what you get in this track, hardness.
The vocals come in again after the intro. They talk about someone who doesn’t want anyone to change him, he’ll decide himself what to do and when. He only relies on one person and that’s his god. He gives you his live, his soul, his passion, his music so you got him where you want him to be. There’s no better time than at that point, to make the change or remain the same.
And D-Passion definitely made the change, with his awesome melody he made the change compared to his past tracks, and it pays off. This track is a great addition to this release, a sweet hardcore tracks with mainstream elements in the melody, and typical D-Passion elements such as the kicks and vocals.
I have no idea what the vocals are exactly about by the way, this is just my own personal meaning on what I think they mean.

The fourth track is The DJ Producer & Deathmachine – 10 Years Of Influence

When you hear the names The DJ Producer and Deathmachine you know what to expect, Industrial sounds with an underground influence and some breakcore elements. This track displays what they have brought for TTM in the past 10 years, hard stuff. Exactly what all the Industrial lovers are here for, the rough noises with low kicks.
I’m not an expert when it comes to the Industrial part of Hardcore, this track basicly has the same structure from beginning till the end. But I guess that’s what Industrial is all about, no time for breakdowns, just madness all over the place !
There’s one little break part in which they add a little sort of melody to it, it’s pretty basic but it goes well together with the kicks and the rest of the track !

The fifth track is Promo – Unafraid.

Promo, this is the guy who started a new era of Hardcore by starting The Third Movement.
He’s brought a lot of fresh and new stuff to the scene from the beginning and that’s why he’s one of the most respected artists around.
He has never been afraid to innovate and try out new styles, this track is no different, he combined lots of elements, hard kicks combined with a bit softer maybe trance-influenced melody, but it goes together so well and that’s why TTM has been around for 10 years already !
The intro gives you a smooth and relaxed feeling but when the kicks come in there’s a complete turnover, gone with the relaxed atmosphere and getting down to business with the pounding kicks smashing all over the place !
After the intro there’s the break, a male vocal saying : “I think we are very near the edge, Strings are being pulled, and not by us.We are being managed and maneuvered without our choosing.
It is he now who, I think, must be unafraid.” This is when the melody buildup pops up, like I said before the melody has some trance influences as it’s a long, fascinating melody. But that’s what Promo is all about, trying to be different than the others, trying to create and combine new sounds in his tracks, and we can almost say that everything he touches turns into gold. The climax part is a piece of art, the melody and kicks are the two elements to success.

The sixth track is N-Vitral – Bazouka

A distinctive feeling of diversity and underground vitality, N-Vitral is a name closely linked to The Third Movement. Ever since his first release he has been developing his sound to the next degree. His earlier releases contain a unique and hypnotizing sound, while his recent EPs have pushed the energy bar beyond limits. From industrial experiments to a battery of shattering kicks and high-tech distorted rhythms.
This track is pretty experimental as well, he divided the tracks into different levels to show how he creates a structure in his track.
Level one is the rhythm he uses in the track, I don’t know how to define this style, it has elements from different styles but he seems to pull it off into a great track.
Level two is where he adds a kick, it gives the rhythm much more power compared to the first level, each level he goes up, the hardness goes up as well.
At level three he lowers the kick a bit more and adds some low heavy sounds at the background to give it a harder sound.
Level four is when everything is at his point, the kicks are supporting the low and heavy sounds to create a nice, hard experimental track.
Basicly he starts decreasing in levels again after the fourth level so he’ll eventually end with level one and the track is done !
I like this sort of experimental stuff, it’s a great addition to the label and the harder styles scene.

The seventh track is Sequence & Ominous – Evolution

These 2 guys are one of the newest additions to the label, they have lots of potential and this track proves that fact. Most intro’s start with some basic claps, but they try to do it different by starting with some sort of instrumental intro to create a calm atmosphere, they keep this same atmosphere when the intro kicks come in, it sounds quite nice, but as it’s this calm it’s not really energetic enough to stomp off your feet already, but I guess that’s the point as they’ve saved the best for the climax part.
A nice break with a male vocal makes sure the same atmosphere continues, but when the melody buildup comes in, it all changes. The melody can be classified as mainstream, but this is what mainstream melodies should be about, this track shows the evolution of music and mainly hardcore. How the styles have changed since the beginning. This is a good mainstream track to show what the young talents can add to the scene. They won’t stop if they fail and that’s the mentality everyone should have, nobody is perfect and everyone makes mistakes, mistakes are there to learn of.
Nice job from these two guys and I’m sure that they’ll turn out into one of the biggest duo’s ever in the future !

The eighth track is The Wishmaster – Dance

This Italian man has been around for a long time already but hasn’t been a part of TTM for such a long time. But he has proven already why he deserves to be a part of this label with his previous releases.
This release just confirms the fact that he deserves to produce for this label. With this mainstream influenced track he’ll definitely make the crowd go wild.
If the crowds need a miracle, they should just dance, just dance to the awesome sounds of this track.
The kicks in the intro part are well produced, a sweet deep punch covered with some distortion. A miracle has come true with this track, the break is sensational, the melody buildup can be heard very early already at the background, it develops throughout the break in a perfect way. When the vocals disappear the melody kicks in, and what about that melody, I do think it has some trance influences as well but it sounds so great and fresh. The kicks aren’t too hard which is perfect for this sweet melody, this Hardcore track is relatively more calm and soft compared to most TTM tracks, but yet again, TTM stands for diversity in their releases so that’s why this track is a 100% TTM track.
Lots of credits go out to The Wishmaster for making such an awesome mainstream tune !

The ninth track is N-Vitral – Return Of The LoFi Death Crew

The second N-Vitral track on this release and it sure as hell is awesome.
It’s completely different than the other track but that’s what N-Vitral is all about, he’s unpredictable with his tracks so you’ll never know what to expect.
The intro builds up a certain tension, it starts very silent but gets louder and louder towards the kicks.
The kicks are very powerful, they sound a bit gated but it brings a nice effect to it.
At the mid-part the kicks change, they become more distorted and harder, gives the track that little bit of extra energy which is needed to make it slamming.
Towards the end there’s a break which gives you a bit time to get some air as you’ll definitely need it after what you’ve just heard !
The outro is basicly 100% kicks and nothing else, rough, powerful and hard. The 3 words needed to describe this track.

The tenth track is Void Settler – Frog Frog Dingbat

Void Settler has a broad range of styles when it comes to producing. His first release on The Third Movement showed us the harsh abstract/IDM hardcore side from his Void Settler project. Nowadays, he is busy giving his raw edge a touch of his fantasy/story themed influenced as already can be heard on tracks like "Gnomes Tinker With Time"
This track is shows exactly how Void Settler tries to differ himself from all the others. His harsh abstract sounds combined with irregular structures and breakdowns result in a track which will make your head explode in a good way. It might sound like mayhem to some, it sounds like an orgasm to others.
This track isn’t recommended for a crowd who doesn’t like the experimental hard stuff as it will leave you ending up with an heart attack, that’s the perfect way to describe how crazy and mad this track is !

Last but not least, the eleventh track is Peaky Pounder – Soutuvene Ihminen

The honour to Peaky Pounder, Third Movements producer which we know the least of, to end this sampler.
This track features lots of different styles, it sounds like some sort of extremely hard electro, combined with hard industrial background noises and kicks. Both styles are completely different, but he makes it sound wicked.
The sounds and structure changes continuously throughout the entire track, very experimental and creative. Exactly why he has earned his spot at the TTM label.
