Tuneboy – La Musica Del Futuro/100% Tuneboy
Label: Titanic
Released: TBA
Style: Hardstyle
Tuneboy a.k.a. Antonio Dona is a true legend in the hardstyle scene. If you’re a fan of him at Facebook, you would’ve noticed that he’s been very busy with his music and keeping everyone up to date about it. That’s why I’ve decided to take the time out to review two of his latest productions.
Tuneboy - La Musica Del Futuro
First up is the soon to be released “La Musica Del Futuro”. The intro of the track is short, and great to mix with. I think the sharp synth notes are recognizable during mixing, which is always is fun to play with if you’re a DJ. After that the first break starts. It has Spanish vocals and continues with that sharp sound, which goes up and down in tone. Sadly I don’t speak Spanish so I can’t inform you the meaning of those vocals. But “La Musica Del Futuro” speaks for itself: Music for the future. The second section of the break contains the main part, which ever so slightly reminds me of “TNT – Countdown”, especially the work with the synth. As in “Countdown” this track just strives to be banging with less focus on melody work. I think that worked out quite well, and it will most certainly work on the dance floor. What I love about this track is that it doesn’t try to be hard and rough in a way that almost everyone in the hardstyle scene tries to be nowadays, raw. If we may speak in these terms, I think the track is hard, not euphoric and not raw, with a slightly early touch. That conclusion makes this track quite unique and totally fitting for Tuneboy’s style.

To continue with the Facebook subject, last week Tuneboy released a free track called “100% Tuneboy” on his artist page. This track is a combination of different Tuneboy tracks combined in a fresh and exciting manner. Starting off with an intro containing the vocal cutting of “Re-Generate It” followed by the melody of one of my all-time favorite tracks in hardstyle, Sexbusters. This melody has been reworked and put in a 2012 lead. This is only the mid-intro section of the track, after that the vocals of “Re-Generate It” continue with a bouncing bassline. Then the break kicks in using vocals of “Re-Generate It” over an energetic melody and lead kicks in. Overall this track seems a mash up including new parts of some Tuneboy tracks. In my opinion he has made it into a very cool complete track. I’m very thankful he gave it away for free and I look forward to hearing it live.
